Biography
Born in 1941, Winston Ntshona was a South African actor for stage and screen, director and playwright. He co-wrote the plays Sizwe Banzi is Dead and The Island with playwrights John Kani and Athol Fugard, which he also starred in. Ntshona was awarded the 1975 Tony Award for Best Actor, which he shared with Kani for Sizwe and The Island, a first for Black actors at the time. He passed away in 2018.
