Synopsis

Sisters Eva and Cordy sit in their grandmother’s living room anticipating the wake to be held for their beloved Grannie Gombo who lies close to death in the adjacent room. Although Grannie has surprised them in the past – several times, with a sudden and unexpected recovery. Among the house callers waiting to pay their respects are boyfriends Joe, who thinks Eva should prioritise passion over marriage, and Cordy’s beau Paul, the village druggist, who is more than a little concerned that his prescribing might have consequences in the village. Meanwhile Mister Bobo, who romanced Grannie long, long ago, tries the patience of them all, and now really needs that drink of rum.
